silver polishing

Silver is a beautiful, lustrous metal which is used to make a number of functional household pieces such as pitchers, goblets, candlesticks and silverware. However, as attractive as silver is, it does have a downside: When exposed to air it develops a dark discoloration on the exposed surface called tarnish. This is caused by a chemical reaction on the surface of the silver piece as it interacts with the molecules in the air.

Even though tarnish does not corrode silver like iron oxide (rust) does with steel, it is not very attractive and most people like to keep their silver pieces as tarnish free as possible.

We understand that there are only so many hours in a day and polishing silver may not be at the top of the list of priorities.

We can help. Using a soft, lint-free cloth and high quality polishing compound, we can keep your silver collection looking like new.
