Carpet cleaning service
In addition to regular home and office cleaning, we offer professional carpet cleaning service using the Rug Doctor&trade carpet cleaning system. Rug Doctor&trade is one of a handful of platinum performers approved by the Carpet and Rug Institute&trade.
First we perform a thorough vacuuming of your carpet to remove as much surface dirt as possible. Then we use a pretreater solution on any visible stains. This is agitated manually with a brush and allowed to dwell for a minimum of 30 minutes. Finally we use the Rug Doctor carpet cleaner to remove dust, dirt and grime.
The Rug Doctor system is an example of the hot-water extraction method of cleaning which is one of the most effective available.
On a hot-water extraction machine, the underside of the cleaning head has three essential components: the sprayer, the agitator and the vacuum strip. A solution of hot water and low foam detergent is sprayed down on the carpet via the sprayer. As the machine is pulled back, the wetted portion of carpet comes in contact with the agitator which rapidly brushes against the carpet. This pulls dirt out of the carpet fibers and into the detergent solution. Finally the high-power vacuum strip comes in contact with the dirty solution and sucks it into the removable tank.
Professional hot-water extraction machines like the Rug Doctor&trade simply cannot be compared to consumer products like the Bissell Proheat or Hoover Steam Vac. Although these are good to have on hand to quickly treat spilled coffee or pet accidents, they give mediocre results for any soil below the surface, and are virtually useless for tackling large areas.
Are there limitations? Yes. Although the Rug Doctor&trade system is extremely effective, it cannot completely remove dirt that has been ground in by years of wear. Nor can it remove indelible inks or ground-in chewing gum. During the assessment phase of our visit we will let you know if it appears the carpet has gone "too far" for us to successfully clean it. For most customers, however, a cleaning with the Rug Doctor&trade proves to be an effective, economical way to remove dirt and restore a carpet to near-new condition.
